I can’t say I know what it’s like to be the parent of a child with cancer. I do, however, have some experience being the mother of a baby girl that has constant doctor’s appointments and has had surgery.
No matter how much or how little time your child spends in a hospital, it is always a scary experience, full of anxiety. We were shown love by so many wonderful people who didn’t even know us during Ava’s surgery, I will never forget it. Whenever possible, I try to give back.
I am so blessed for the opportunity to work with the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation on a Cuddle Bear Book Drive this Christmas season. The Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation improves the mental, social and emotional well-being of children undergoing cancer treatment across America! It’s truly such an amazing cause and I am really excited to be a part of their wonderful work. One of the many, MANY incredible things they do is deliver gifts to thousands of children undergoing cancer treatments in hospitals across the United States. I am working to provide them with as many Cuddle Bear book sets as I can for their initiative this holiday season!
The Cuddle Bear set includes an adorable storybook, and a matching plush teddy bear, making it a perfect gift for a little one that is sick and in the hospital all the time.
